My Big 3 Made Me Do It

My Big 3 Made Me Do It

If you know me well, you know I'm a very spiritual person. I believe in all things woo-woo โ€” from tarot to astrology.

What most people don't know is that when I was really little, around 6 years old, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I created designs out of craft paper and put them into a little book. There's a picture of me somewhere wearing an outfit made completely out of PC garbage bags โ€” innovative, I know.

As I got older, I found myself drawn to other hobbies, so I put fashion design on the backburner โ€” eventually forgetting about it entirely.

Almost a year ago today, I made it a goal to start connecting with my inner child. I started pursuing more creative endeavours, started rollerblading again, picked up new sports, and earlier this spring I took the plunge on pursuing my dream as a fine artist.

But how does my 6-year-old dream tie into this? Well, in between finishing Midnight Sun and the Midsommar series, I looked high and low for ways to make the Summer Vol. II collection more personal.

That's when I discovered I could turn my prints into patterns โ€” and that I could put those patterns onto silk robes. But if I was making robes, then of course I had to make matching scarves, because we love a matchy-matchy moment.

The silk robes and scarves are a reflection of my dreams and my Big 3: Aquarius rising. Leo sun. Taurus moon.

One part "I do what I want," one part "but make it dramatic," one part "make it cozy but luxurious."

Hand-sewn in Montreal. Original art print. A scarf you can tie a different way every single day and a robe you'll never want to take off.
