Hey, I'm Steph — the artist behind Chaos On Canvas.
Art has been a part of my life since early childhood. It’s been my main creative outlet and therapy for working through my emotions.
I’ve always wanted to pursue a fine art career, but every adult in my life urged me to choose another ‘safe’ career, as being a fine artist was not seen as realistic or financially stable.
So I compromised and pursued a career in the film industry. I’ve spent the past 4 years working as an AD and VFX coordinator, and I genuinely love it.
But the 2023 strikes were a wake-up call. Nothing in this industry is guaranteed — and if I wanted to sustain a film career, I would need to diversify my income.
After spending way too much time looking for another ‘safe’ corporate job, I decided to bet on myself and pursue the dream I'd been shelving since childhood.
Chaos On Canvas is that dream. Bold, abstract, unapologetic art made by someone who’s spent the past few years managing creatives and is finally letting herself be one.
You can love more than one thing. Turns out the adults were wrong.
